  3. Myth 1 - Diabetes is contagious Diabetes is categorized as a non-contagious disease, which means it cannot be caught from someone else through touch, blood, or any other means. The only way diabetes can be passed is through genes - from parents to children, but this too will be based on the genetic likelihood of diabetes. Myth 2 - Diabetic patients should not be a part of any sports First of all, people with diabetes should take part in physical activities and other exercises to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Many famous sports-persons have disapproved of this myth, even though there are some factors that can be taken into account, there are zero reasons for diabetic patients not to be a part of sports in most cases.

Myth 4 - Only overweight people are affected by Type 2 Diabetes. It is a common myth that only people who are overweight develop diabetes. This is an overrated myth backed by the media which demonstrates diabetes people as overweight people. They are showing only a larger picture. In fact, diabetes can affect anyone, no matter if they are underweight or overweight. It is also a fact that weight can eventually develop diabetes.
