  1. Shingles Are Painful And Require Immediate Treatment From An Online GP Shingle is a painful rash that is from the same virus that causes chickenpox. The rash appears in an area of the body usually on the chest, back, or abdomen. Little blisters appear and remain clustered together. When the blisters are full of fluid, and this is transmitted to another person they can become infected as this is the time when Shingles is most contagious. Headaches and a general feeling of being unwell may develop this coupled with a tingling pain on an area of the skin could suggest Shingles and an online appointment to see a GP is advisable. It would be best to contact an online health clinic or clinician to discuss whether the symptoms are pointing in the direction of Shingles. An online GP will be able to diagnose and treat the Shingles with antiviral medication. The script can be sent to the closest local pharmacy for the patient to collect. Contacting an online GP within 3 days of experiencing the painful rash of Shingles is best. The medicine will work immediately and the sooner the patient starts treatment the better. There is no cure for shingles, but antiviral medication will slow down the rash and help the body to begin to heal and avoid any further difficulties. Paracetamol can be administered for the pain. The online GP that is contacted for an appointment relating to Shingles will advise that the skin needs to be kept as clean and dry as possible this will make sure that there will not be any further infections from the rash or blisters. Wearing loose clothing can help reduce friction on the skin and if the pain is very uncomfortable then an ice pack can be used to relieve the pain. The online GP will advise against using any bacterial creams as this slows healing. The rash may persist and take a month or more to disappear and even then, the pain may continue for a time. Shingles are not contagious however people that have never had chickenpox could catch it from the patient suffering from Shingles. During the online appointment with the GP, they will explain that the patient with Shingles should avoid newborn babies and be around any vulnerable people such as pregnant women or patients undergoing chemotherapy.

  2. Getting advice from the online GP is well worth following to feel better as soon as possible and they will suggest that until the Shingles rash is dry the patient will be contagious. Shingles can be triggered by emotional stress because the body’s immune is weakened when the person receives a shock which could be losing a loved one or work or home-related. When suffering from Shingles an online appointment with a health care worker can help the patient both with the physical symptoms and the emotional trauma they may be experiencing. The health care professional or online GP will advise that if the patient is over the age of 60 it would be advisable to have the Shingles vaccine. There is only one vaccine available and that is a vaccine called Zostavax. A person is only immune from Shingles if they have had chickenpox or the vaccine for chickenpox. They can be immune then from catching chickenpox but will still be unprotected against getting Shingles later in life usually after 60 years old. The best way to prevent further illness through Shingles is to contact an online GP and get professional assistance as soon as possible the correct diagnosis and treatment can be administered once a booking has been made with an online clinic or healthcare provider.
