  5. 6th Grade Overview • Classroom Expectations * Pay close attention to Dress code, cell phone policy, and hallway behavior! • Areas of Study • Supplies • Tardies • Absences and Make-up Work • Grading Policy • Late Assignments • Tutorials/Advisory

  6. F.Y.I. • It is important that you arrive on time and bring your supplies every day. • To leave the classroom during class, you must have Corridor Pass signed by your teacher. • Must wear ID and MUST be visible at all times! • Read the SLJH Student/Parent Handbook!!

Classroom Protocol • Enter quietly and quickly get to assigned seat. • Write Homework in Planner/Calendar • Begin working on WARM-UP (listed on Smart Board) • NO pencil sharpening or bathroom breaks during teaching time… Raise your hand to talk. • Dismiss from class when Mr. Curley dismisses you….NOT THE BELL!!!! • Exit quietly and quickly to next class!

  8. Advisory Period • Advisory Period will be 1:05-1:45 every day. • Expectations of class…. • You will have assigned seats. • I will take attendance and count tardies. • This period is put into the day to allow you to: • work on homework or other assignments • Attend tutorials if necessary • Collect/Handout materials, notes, etc. • Must be quiet and working at all times or an assignment will be given by Mrs. Taylor • Pep Rally and Assemblies are during this period.

  10. Your Expectations of Mr. Curley I have shared my expectations for my Science Class. At your table is an index card. Write 2 reasonable expectations that you have for me for this year. It is NOT reasonable for you to expect to have no homework in science so please don’t write it down.
