  1. Webpage Organisation Helen Hayward

  2. WebPage organisation? Non SCT Pages In the short term we propose new top level page handling all links to various pages. In order to aid navigating, all SCT pages should have common Navigation bar at top of page This Navigation bar should be minimal and unobtrusive as possible To have easy maintanance, minimal changes to current SCT webpages, all coding/should be done in central script that all webpages simply include.

  3. Navigation bar http://hep.ph.liv.ac.uk/~hayward/mainpage.php (Thanks to Thomas Kluge !! for writing this preliminary bar/pages! )

  4. Proposed Navigation Bar Web Address of page is preserved Link to Page Documentation Back to Top Page Webpage Author/contact Back to Parent Page

  5. Requirements • Navigation bar is php script. • SCT Webpages need: • Identified parent page • (organisational tree-like hierarchy) • Need to be .php (not .html) • (Unless people know how to get around this?) • Need to add 1 line: • <?php $uri=$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; include("http://hep.ph.liv.ac.uk/~hayward/navbar.php?NAVBARURI=$uri") ?><div id="navbarspace"></div> • Link to available documentation • That’s all folks ! • All code, maintenance will be handled in one common file.

  6. Top Level Page • Still playing with format • Propose splitting into subjects • DCS • Calibration • DQ • Propose highlighting “Shift Level” links

  7. Summary • Work in progress • Hope to have private version of top level page working in liverpool 1-2 weeks • Am busy with SCT Note at present • If people agree on format for navigation bar • Will role that out after. • If all pages are in point 1, nav bar should be in point 1.
