  2. What is the Ontario Player Development League? A standards based league Will include the top 1.5% of players in the Province starting with age U13 in 2014 OPDL is the Talented Pathway OSC has advocated for this league

Why Does Ontario Soccer Need OPDL? • A genuine high performance, standards-based League • High level, mandatory standards of excellence in all organizations participating in the League • Consistency of program quality across the entire League • Quality beyond competition, driving into standards in coaching, training curriculum

  5. Why Does Ontario Soccer Need OPDL? • Driving organizational excellence and system development around Ontario, by encouraging clubs to: • develop top coaches • build top facilities • maintain strong balance sheets • professionalize their operations

Why Does Ontario Soccer Need OPDL? • Bringing scouting Ontario, pitch-side, rather than at showcases around North America • More efficient and economical for parents and clubs • More opportunities to enter the Provincial Program • Enhancing progression opportunities for the province’s top talent beyond amateur club soccer
