  4. Guided Reading Today’s Task • Quietly read the text provided for understanding (It’s a non-fiction article today) “Hurricanes and Tornadoes” p. 104 • Think on it … Why was this text chosen? How does it relate to what we are learning about? • When your group has read the text once Mr. W. will come over to start the guided reading session.

  5. Independent Reading Choose a text you are interested in. Read the text for understanding. Summarize the text in your own words (6-8 sentences) Complete the “Try This” Activity. Language Power pages 3, 4, & 5

Total of 15 sentences. • 1 Illustrated word from the list. Your choice.

Computers Your Target: The Millau Viaduct Tasks: • While your CPU loads create a list of 10 things you need to know about this in your Inquiry notebook. • On the CPU open up Google and begin your inquiry. • Create a mind map (like in Library) using Word to record your discoveries. • Save the mind map in your “homedrive”. • Where you are going with this? • You will have to wait and see 
