  5. 1.  Learn to articulate scholarly views about the world in which we live, and its history. • In other words, we need to be able to talk about the world and its history in intelligent ways ASPIRATIONs

  6. 2.  Skillfully represent their knowledge in writing and speech. • In other words, we need to be able to write and say what we mean. And it must be OUR work, not someone else’s. ASPIRATIONs

  7. 3.  Be prepared to participate, compete, and excel in a global economy. • In other words, the world is changing. We need to be ready to meet tomorrow’s challenges. ASPIRATIONs
