  1. What Does God Require of You? Deuteronomy 10:12-13

  2. To Fear Him • To “fear God” denotes “ a reverence toward God.” • Just as Moses exhorted the children of Israel to fear God (Deuteronomy 10:12), Peter likewise exhorted Christians to fear God (1 Peter 2:17). • The whole-duty of man is to fear God and keep His commandments. (Ecclesiastes 12:13) • The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom (Proverbs 1:7, 9:10) and it is hatred of evil (Proverbs 8:13). • Fear God and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:7)

  3. To Walk In All His Ways • One who walks in God’s ways is one who receives His truth, accepts His ways, and follows the path of conduct which He prescribes. • Man is not todirect his own steps. (Jeremiah 10:23) • Although there is a way that seems right to a man (Proverbs 14:12), we must realize that God’s ways are not like our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). • You see, God’s ways are perfect (Psalm 18:30), right (Hosea 14:9), and everlasting (Habakkuk 3:6). • Blessed is the one who fears the Lord and walks in His ways (Psalm 128:1).

  4. To Love Him • One needs to love (i.e. have affection) for God. • Jesus said that the first and great commandment is to whole-heartedly love God. (Matthew 22:37-38) • Why love God? (1 John 4:19; Romans 5:8) • Keep in mind, God is merciful to those who love Him. (Psalm 119:132) • Be one who sincerely loves God. (Psalm 31:23)

  5. To Serve Him • This denotes one’s need to give service to their creator, the Lord thy God. • Man is not to worship or serve any other than the one true Lord thy God. (Matthew 4:10) • Serve the Lord thy God with a loyal heart and a willing mind. (1 Chronicles 28:9) • Serve God in sincerity and truth. (Joshua 24:14) • Serve God with fear. (Psalm 2:11; Hebrews 12:28) • Serve the Lord thy God with gladness. (Psalm 100:2)

  6. To Keep His Commandments • This simply implies one’s need to obey God. • Keeping God’s commandments is a part of the whole-duty of man. (Ecclesiastes 12:13) • Contrary to the belief of some, the commandments of God are not burdensome. (1 John 5:3) • One must keep God’s commandments in order to be one who will inherit eternal life. (Matthew 7:21-23) • Always remember, blessed are those who keep God’s commandments. (Luke 11:28)

  7. What Must I Do To Be Saved? • Hear the word of God. (Romans 10:17) • Believe in Jesus Christ. (John 8:24) • Repent of your sins. (Acts 17:30) • Confess Jesus Christ. (Matthew 10:32) • Be baptized for the remission of sins. (Acts 2:38) • Remain faithful unto death. (Revelation 2:10)
