  1. Our Lady of the Lake Liturgical Ministries

  2. Our Lady of the Lake Ushers

  3. Arrive 15 minutes early Read notes in Ushers Room Face the Doors and Welcome All Be Alert and Aware of All going on

  4. When the Entrance Procession Forms (Servers and Priest and Deacon gather at center aisle) and or when the Cantor begins the pre-Mass announcements show those arriving one of the six aisles other than the center aisle. Do not let them down the center aisle.

  5. When the presider reaches the chair you can seat people up the center aisle (except when there are baptisms at that Mass.)

  6. The Liturgy of the Word is Sacred. It is the Word of God being proclaimed to us and broken open for us and our response.

  7. The Liturgy of the Word is everything from the start of the First Reading to the end of the Universal Prayer

  8. First Reading Responsorial Psalm Second Reading Gospel Acclamation Gospel Homily Creed Universal Prayer Silent Moments Between Each

  9. DO NOT seat anyone from the start of the First Reading until the end of the Universal Prayer! This means not even pointing to open spots. Do not hold people back, however, Do Not encourage them to find a seat.

  10. At Communion, do not wait for everyone to leave the pew before moving to the next pew. Start the flow at the first pew and basically get out of the way. Be ready to keep the flow moving. It is no one’s business who does or does not go up to communion. Do not impede a line or move them pew by pew. Keep the line moving so there is always a line at the person distributing communion. We are working on a refined procedure for communion to the non-ambulatory. This procedure will be implemented after Christmas. Until then, try to use the first EM finished to take them communion. DO NOT take a chalice to them.

  11. Thank You
