  2. School of the Air The Alice Spring School of the Air is a very unusual school. It is a primary correspondence school for about 120 children who live in isolated areas in Australia. It covers over one million square kilometers.

  3. The first lessons... The school is over fifty years old and dates back to 1951. The first lessons were transmitted by radio.

  4. Today... Today it is the largest classroom in the world and each class has its own webpage! The school now uses satellite technology to have daily contact with students, home tutors and teachers.

  5. Visitor Centre in Alice Springs You can get an idea of how the school works by watching a lesson in progress at the Visitor Centre in Springs.
