  4. About Easter Jesus Christ died on a cross on a Friday about two thousand years ago. Christians believe that on the following Sunday, Christ rose from the dead and, in doing so, proved that He is the Son of God. The day Jesus died and was buried is known as Good Friday. The following Sunday is Easter. Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Son of God each year between March 22nd and April 25th. Religious celebrations include family gatherings and special Easter church services. • Celebration 1 • Celebration 2

  19. Peter Rabbitadapted by Chiaying Lee Narrator 1:Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were: Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter. They lived with their father and mother under a big tree. Mrs. Rabbit:"Now, my dears, you can go play but don't go into Mr. Tim’s garden – your father had trouble there, he was put in a pie by Mrs. Tim." Now run along, and don't get into trouble.” Narrator 2:Then Mrs. Rabbit went to the bakery to buy some bread. Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail were good little rabbits and they played. But Peter, who was very naughty, ran to Mr. Tim’s garden and crawled under the gate! Peter:I think I’ll eat some beans. Narrator 3:Just then, Mr. Tim saw Peter. Mr. Tim :" Thief, Stop!"

Narrator 2:Peter thought he was in big trouble. Mr. Tim tried to catch Peter, but he ran away just in time, leaving his jacket and shoes behind. Peter ran and hid. Narrator 3:Mr. Tim looked for Peter under the flower pots. Just then, Peter sneezed and Mr. Tim chased after him again. Peter jumped out of a window, knocking down the plants. Mr. Tim was tired, so he went back to work.

He then found a door in a wall, but it was locked, Luckily, Peter saw an old mouse and Peter asked the mouse for help. Peter: “Can you tell me how to get to the gate?” Narrator 2:But the old mouse only shook her head and Peter started to cry. Just then he saw a white cat staring at some fish. He was scared and hid in a cart? Suddenly he heard Mr. Tim working in the garden and saw the gate behind him. Luckily Mr. Tim didn’t see Peter. Narrator 3:Peter jumped out of the cart and ran as fast as he could. By the time that Mr. Tim saw him he was outside the gate. Peter didn’t stopped running him until he got home.

It was the second jacket and pair of shoes that Peter had lost in two weeks! Mrs. Rabbit: “I am sorry to say that Peter is not well.” Narrator 2: His mother put him to bed, and made some tea for Peter! Mrs. Rabbit:" One spoon at bedtime, Honey and sleep well" Peter:Mom, Thank you and Good night! Narrator 3:Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail had bread and milk for supper and then went to sleep.

  29. About Easter • In ancient Egypt and Persia people exchanged decorated eggs at the spring equinox , the beginning of the new year. The eggs were seen as a symbol of fertility for them because the coming forth of a live creature from an egg was so surprising to people of ancient times. • Christians adopted this tradition, and the Easter egg became a religious symbol. It represented the tomb from which Jesus broke forth. In medieval times eggs were traditionally given at Easter to all servants, and to the children, along with other gifts. It seems that the custom of hiding the eggs is a universal one.
