  2. What is it? • Elihu Katz • People use media for their own purpose. (Radio in a car) • Shift from Uniform-effects model • We choose media sources to gratify our needs • People are different, so media messages affect individuals differently

  3. Academic Literature • Study conducted on cancer patients on how they receive specific needs.(coping with side effects, prognosis) • 58.13% chose internet as source • 31.25 chose cancer specialist • Different people get satisfaction from different mediums
