  2. Energy for the future • What do you see as energy for the future of China? • Examine the photo and recall the pros and cons of wind power.

  3. Information • In the past two decades, China’s energy output has increased by 6.3 times. This achievement, however, has given rise to problems • environmental pollution and ecological destruction, lots of mounting carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. • Looking at the future, the Chinese government set up a target of quadrupling the size of its GDP in by the year 2020.
