  1. My Last Conference at C.S.I.A.!!! '06 February 2006 8th grader De'Che a.k.a. short stuff

  2. What was your easiest assignment in Algebra & why? • My easiest assignment for algebra was a work sheet called Graphing Linear Equations because I came up with a way that was easier for me to understand!!!!

  3. What was your hardest Algebra assignment & why? • My hardest assignment in algebra was our test because I didn’t understand anything. Mrs. Barber didn’t explain it in a way I would understand it! Yes we had a journal but the test consist of something different

  4. What have been your easiest and hardest Social Studies assignments? Describe them. • Easiest-was our Inventor Research project because we just had to research questions and make a poster • Hardest-when we had to make a graph on the U.S census because I was clueless and didn’t know what to do!

  5. In Science & Spanish, what assignment has frustrated you the most? Why? • The science assignment that frustrated me the most was when we had to take notes and answer questions on a whole chapter because this was do in the next day and I already had a lot of homework to do • And my most frustrating for Spanish was the reflexive verbs when I didn’t understand it

  6. Do you feel challenged in Language Arts? Why/not? Describe your favorite activity so far. • Yes I do feel challenged in L.A. because Mrs. Thompson is really trying to push our writing skills. For the more difficult writing we will do next year in 9th grade • My favorite activity thus far is when we got to pick what we wanted to research

  7. What stresses you out about school and why? Sometimes the teachers and the way they explain things stresses me out sometimes. They will try to explain it but they are not really helping there confusing me more

  8. Pick two specific classes you can improve in, and tell two specific steps you can take to improve. • I can approve in algebra by paying attention a little more instead of getting irritated when I don’t understand

  9. What are your test grades like? Tell three specific ways you study. • I usually get good grades on test • First I see what I need help on • Focus on specific things I do understand • And then I have someone give me a practice test

  10. As you prepare to go to high school, what subjects or areas do you feel you need the most improvement? How can your teachers & parents help? • I really don’t need to improve on much except for keeping my tone and attitude/anger down and I am already trying my best to my cool

  11. Teacher Comment Page • You did a nice job, De’Che, of being honest on this slide show, and your formatting was clear and consistent. A few answers would have benefited from more details, and you left in some grammatical mistakes, but overall did a nice job. 27 out of 30 points. • I think I’m most proud of two things that I’ve seen from you this year: you’ve matured in your handling of your irritation/anger, and you are starting to really ask good questions of teachers. Specifically, I’ve spent time with you on Algebra, and though it may take a few tries, we eventually get through it- it’s good that you don’t just walk away thinking you don’t understand. • I’d like to see you really work at becoming more detail-oriented. Your work has the potential to be very good, instead of just good, if you’d put a bit more time into proofreading and watching for mistakes. Sra. T.
