NCSLI Standards Activities • ANSI Approved Writing Committee • Develop U.S. National Standards • ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 “Calibration Laboratories and Measuring & Test Equipment - General Requirements” • ANSI/NCSL Z540-2-1997 “Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement” • ANSI/ISO/IEC 17025:2000 “General Requirements for the Competence of Testing & Calibration Laboratories”

Chemical Metrology Committee Charter Serve as a forum for information exchange among calibration laboratory managers and staff on chemical metrology issues at both the national and international level. Provide communication and information for member organizations with regard to chemical measurement traceability, uncertainty analysis, standards availability, documentary standards development and distribution, accreditation needs and requirements, benchmarking criteria and schedule, and interlaboratory comparisons.

Chemical Metrology Committee • Goals: • Increase Committee Membership • Form working groups to address issues: • Chemical Traceability • Uncertainty Analysis • Documentary Standards • Interlaboratory Comparisons • Accreditation Needs & Requirements • Hold two committee meetings each year: • NCSLI Conference and PITTCON • Obtain participation from Clinical, Forensic, & Environmental Labs; National Metrology Institutes; Regulatory Agencies; etc.
