  12. Answer: • Long ago it was good manners to make a lot of noise • while eating. People were told to smack their lips loudly. • The louder they smacked them, the better the meal. This • is a way of letting the cook know how much they liked • the food.

  13. Answer: 2. One type of rock predicts the weather. It is called a weather stone. When the weather stone turns a dark purple, you can be certain that it’s going to rain. When the stone is grey, you know that it will be a perfect day to be outside. The weather will be fair and sunny.

  14. Answer: 3. The brain is the control centre for the body. The brain gets information through the five senses. Then it tells every part of the body what to do and when to do it. The human brain stores information so that people can learn. The brain also is in charge of feelings, thoughts, and memories.

  15. Answer: 4. In the development of body language, it has been discovered that it varies from country to country. In the United States the connection of the thumb and index finger may represent a positive reaction. In Brazil it indicates something very private! Another important concept in body language is the idea of territory and personal space. It also varies from place to place, situation to situation.
