  1. Summer Eating Tips for People With Diabetes

  2. Summer is finally here! Enjoy the return of the warmer months by trying these summer drinks that can fit right in with your diabetes meal plan and keep your taste buds happy.

  3. Look for high-fiber foods, • such as dried beans and peas, • lentils, and dark green vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, spinach, and kale.

  4. Dishes with green beans, three-beans, black beans, and black-eyed peas are always good choices. • Other good choices are whole grain foods such as brown rice, couscous, and whole wheat bread and pasta. • Try to drink water or unsweetened tea, instead of juice and regular soda with your meal. • If you choose to drink alcoholic beverages, drink only with a meal and limit it to no more than one drink (for women) or two drinks (for men) a day.

  5. Drink tomato juice with salt and pepper every morning on an empty stomach. • One teaspoon of methi seeds soaked overnight • in 100 ml of water is very effective in controlling diabetes.

  6. Intake of 6 almonds (soaked overnight) is also helpful in keeping a check on diabetes. Diabetes cannot be cured, but it often can be managed with proper medical care, diet, and regular exercise.
