  1. DASC Meeting February 25, 2010 San Jose, California

  2. Agenda • Call to order • Approval of agenda • Approval of minutes from last two meetings • Discussion of new IEEE SA membership rules • P1666-2010 (SystemC) update • P1497-2001 (SDF) update • P1801 (Low Power) update • P1850 (PSL) Update • Proposal to form subcommittee to review DASC Policies and Procedures • Overview of JEITA’s “BVDL: the Bird’s-eye View for Design Languages” • AOB • Adjournment

  3. New IEEE SA Membership Model • Previously entities could join the IEEE SA • Entities paid dues, plus a fee for each group they joined. • Now there are two classes of SA membership • http://standards.ieee.org/sa-mem/corp_overview.html • The upshot is that • Advanced memebers get to participate, make motions and vote in WG meetings • Basic members get to observe • Also get to join unlimited number of balloting groups • Non-members may attend once • WG chairs must enforce these rules

  4. P1666 (SystemC) Update • Technical consultant and writer are now under contract with the IEEE • OSCI and the IEEE are under contract to pay the above • Discussion is now on what to include in p1666-2010 • TLM 1.0 is a particular focal point • Consensus yesterday to properly document core TLM 1.0 in new LRM

  5. P1497-2001 (SDF) Update • 84% response rate on first reaffirmation ballot • 94% approval rate • One negative ballot cast • Balloter wanted to call attention to issues in SDF in order to get WG reconstituted • Now in recirculation– will end on March 5th

  6. P1850 (PSL) Update • On March RevCom agenda • Two minor (non-technical content) edits • Will be fixed in final production of LRM • Harry Foster resigning as chair • Standard may go (or may not) into maintenance mode

  7. Update of DASC P&P’s (1) • Mixed individual/entity DASC membership was passed 09 • Discussion centered around voting rights • Clarifications of the current P&P’s have also been passed • Neither of these have been incorporated • Also there are some updates to the IEEE SA model sponsor P&Ps

  8. Update of DASC P&P’s (2) • Volunteers are needed to for a review committee to • work on the wording for incorporating our agreed upon changes into the current P&P’s • examine our P&P’s in the light of the new baselines
