  1. DhuhaHameed STATES OF MATTER

  2. STATE OF MATTER: All matter that exist on earth is a state of matter the three types of matter : • Solids • Liquids • gases • \ • \ • d gases) • R

  3. Solids: • Definite shape • Definite volume • Particles tightly packed • Doesn’t shape as its container • Expands when heated Ex: rock, laptop, and iron

  4. Liquids: • Flows • Definite volume • Indefinite shape • Takes shape of its container • Might not fill the whole container • Particles less closely packed Ex: blood, water, and juice

  5. Gases: • flows to shape as its container • Indefinite shape • Indefinite volume • Fills the entire volume of its container • Particles are far apart Ex: nitrogen, helium, and carbon

  6. Vapor and gas • Vapor is same as gas • Gaseous state of substance(solids or liquids) • Room temperature

  7. STATES OF MATTER SOILDS LIQUIDS GASES • Definite shape Indefinite shape Indefinite shape • Definite volume Definite volume Indefinite volume • Particles tightly Particles tightly packed Particles are far packed apart Ex: rock Ex: water Ex:O2
