  2. The Greenhouse Effect – the natural heating process of a planet, such as the Earth, by which gases in the atmosphere trap thermal energy.

  3. Particles that trap thermal energy are called “greenhouse gases”. • Scientists have hypothesized that an increase of these gases, may be causing an increase in the greenhouse effect.
