  3. tUESday, August 5, 2014 • Set up interactive Notebook • Tikki-Tikki-Tembo: Take notes on right-hand side next to yesterday’s reflective writing • Reflective Writing #2: Left-hand side of next page: • Discuss at table what you could write about? • How is book them related to class discussion yesterday? • How do you think Chang feels? • Can you relate to a character? • How do you feel about this Chinese tradition? • Name Cards: • Fold card stock in half • Write name in center and surround with 5 or more internal and external adjectives. • Pictures may also be added • HW: Interview parent about your name: Due Wednesday. List reasons why a student should read for pleasure, read books by choice. Write a friendly letter addressed “Dear student” and convince him or her to read for pleasure. Use evidence from the article to support your argument. • Read the article “Surviving the first day: Advice from Cobb principals” located on the back table. List advice that each principal gives to students. Write a friendly letter addressed “Dear student” and convince him or her to do follow the advice from the article. Cite specific advice from the article that the student should follow and give reasons why.
