  3. Time span They lived in the Pleistocene age in the 9,000,000 – 10,000 B.C.

  4. Other family Any thing in the tiger family and lions. The saber tooth tigers were more closely related to lions than tigers.

  5. Fossils In august 8-21-2008 skulls and jawbones were found in Venezuela. Saber was the second most common fossil in California's La Brea Tar Pits.

  6. When They Lived They lived during the ice age and became extinct 10,000 years ago. We believe they became extinct because of climate change and hunting.

  7. Environment The environment they lived in was wooded grassland, scrub lands and savannahs.

  8. Plants The plants that the saber tooth tiger ate: -grasses -shrubs -conifer trees -mosses -flowers plants -lichen -prairie cone flowers -fox glove
