  1. S6 Open University • Open University modules will be offered to S6 pupils who are interested in using their study periods to complete a course of their choice. Pupils interested will apply for funding so it doesn’t cost. • Applicants must be: • Hard-working and self reliant. • Have achieved 3 Highers or more (preferably at level B or above). • Prepared to use their study periods over the course of 10 weeks to complete an Open Uni module (approx 100 hours of study required). • Have an interest in a specific subject area to study at University level.

S6 Open University • Some of the available modules: • Digital worlds:designing games, creating alternative realities • Elements of Forensic Science • Understanding Human Nutrition • Human genetics and health issues. • Sport; the science behind the medals • Molecules, medicines and drugs (a chemical story) • Volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis • Design and the Web • Introducing Astronomy • Maths for Science • Introduction to book keeping and accounting • Digital Audio
