  3. 1 Common representation format • Create a specification of a common representation format (speech and text) • Every framework must be able to be saved in the common format without loss of information (both ways), but loss between frameworks is possible

  5. 3 Exchanging annotation manuals • Discuss the analysis of different Nordic languages • Create a web page giving overview of the linguistic analysis at different sites (e.g.,”how do they define NP?”) • Publish definitions of the grammatical analysis separate of a particular analyzer

  6. 4 Treebank creation tools • Create an inventory of existing tools used in the Network, taggers, parsers, machine learners • Create a rough categorisation of frameworks • Exchange experiences from different frameworks

  7. 5 Treebank evaluation • What’s good, what’s bad • Identify criteria for good treebanks and tools

  8. Tasks • For each of the above areas • identifying and listing existing resources (web page) • ask network members to contributre short summaries + links of the above • ask for volunteers to provide an edited summary of the resources • Create an archived mailing list for discussion • Organise a workshop on tools and resources • Nominate a work package leader: Mathias
