  2. Warm-Up • 1. Restroom and water. • 2. Silently enter class. • 3. Copy homework into agenda. • 4. Place study guide and maps into Unit 6 – Hebrews section. • Study maps. Be sure you can identify the key components.

Activity Directions: Design a timeline of Early Hebrew History. • Place the following people/events/places in chronological (historical)order on a timeline beginning about 2000 BCE and ending about 1 A.D. Abraham, Moses, Miriam, Ruth & Naomi, Deborah, King Saul, King David, Jerusalem, King Solomon, the Great Temple, Israel, Judah, Assyria, Babylon, Esther, Persians, Second Temple, Diaspora, Maccabees, Romans 2. Include the dates and the accomplishments of the people/events/places onto the timeline…..what is their big deal or impact? Feel free to add any symbols or visuals. ***Use color to help identify each topic*** 3. Some of the people/events/places may go together onto one date or location…..Example: Moses, the Exodus and the Ten Commandments all relate to each other and may be placed together under 1200s BCE. King David and Jerusalem also go together under 1000 BCE.

  4. Early Hebrew Timeline - Example 2ooo BCE 18oo BCE – Abraham leaves Mesopotamia and goes to Canaan. He is the first to use monotheism. 15oo BCE 12oos BCE – Moses leads the Israelites on the Exodus out of slavery in Egypt. 12oos BCE - Moses receive s the Ten Commandments from God. 1ooo BCE 5oo BCE 1 AD

  5. Homework • Review notes and map. • Maps – add color as needed. Use your study guide to find out what you need to know for the test. Then add color to the maps to assist you in finding these places.
