  1. P339 Training Scott Silver, TMPC February 2018

  2. P339 Features MIPI C-PHY 1.0 compliant, CSI2 1.3/DSI2 1.0 2.5GSPS/4 Lanes Supports BTA including return of Slave Data GUI/Macros/Scripting/RPC support for all levels of automation 2 GB pattern memory, USB 3 host interface, Win7/8/10 compatible Pushbutton “Picture-to-video” generation Supports all protocol compliance testing Variable LP and HS voltages

  3. Other Information Documentation on website: http://www.movingpixel.com/main.pl?P339.html Software is downloadable from website (FREE!): http://www.movingpixel.com/CPhyGenCtl/CPhyGenCtlInstall_Ver3.5.zip The demos in this presentation generated by CPhyGenCtl V3.1

  4. Demo Listing Demo #1a: Sending a simple looping command (CSI) Demo #1b: Sending a simple looping command (DSI) Demo #2: Show the Phy Layer Adjustments Demo #3: Show the CPhy Timing Adjustments Demo #4: Show the Video Timing Adjustments Demo #5: Playing out a Looping Video .bmp file

  5. Demo #1a: Sending a simple looping CSI cmd Step #1: Run CPhyGenCtl.exe Step #2: Set the Standard to CSI Step #3: Set the Options as shown on Figure 1 (next page) Step #4: Select the CSI “Null” command from the Pkt Type shown in figure 2. Step 5: Press “Send” (Figure 3). This will cause a looping “Null” packet to be sent from the P339. The goal is to show you how easy it is to get the instrument running!

  6. Figure 1: GUI for Demo 1A, Step 3

  7. Figure 2: GUI for Demo 1A, Step 4

  8. Figure 3: GUI for Demo 1A, Step 5

  9. Demo #2: Showing the Phy-Level Adjustments Step #1: Select the Inst Cfg… button as shown on Figure 4 (next page) Refer to Figure 5: HS logic low voltage, HS logic high voltage (per lane), LP logic low and logic high voltage (all lanes), and lane delays are found here. Also some less-used features like BTA timeout and lane remapping.

  10. Figure 4: GUI for Demo 2, Step 1

  11. Figure 4: GUI for Demo 2

  12. Demo #3: Showing the CPhy Timing Adjustments Step #1: Set the Options as shown on Figure 5 (next page) Step #2: Select “Configure CPhy Timing…” option Observe in Figure 6 the CPhy-specific symbol and timing adjustments. CPhy has many more adjustments than DPhy. Symbol timing is at the bottom of the GUI.

  13. Figure 5: GUI for Demo 3 Step #1

  14. Figure 6: GUI for Demo 3

  15. Demo #4: Video Timing Adjustments Step #1: Select the Timing Cfg… button as shown on Figure 7 (next page) Observe in Figure 8 the Video-specific adjustments. Controls for all timing, looping vs continuous, symbol rate override, and blanking options.

  16. Figure 7: GUI for Demo 4 Step #1

  17. Figure 8: GUI for Demo 4

  18. Demo #5a: Sending CSI Looping Video Step #1: Run CPhyGenCtl.exe Step #2: Set the Standard to CSI Step #3: Set the Options as shown on Figure 1 (earlier) Step #4: Select the “RGB888“ packet from the Pkt Type shown in figure 9. Note that the “File Name” field defaults to “Ramp_3”, a built-in test pattern. Step 5: Override the “File Name field by “browsing” for the .bmp file you wish to send. Step 6: Press “Send”. Note how easy it is to generate a looping video! No programming required!
