  17. Parker Factory Display – PFD Manager Updates

  18. Next Generation PFD • What’s so great about the new PFD? • We can import other PLC manufacturer’s tags more easily • Controller has more robust hardware • Faster screen updates locally and remotely • Two Ethernet Ports to allow IT Dept to separate the Office Network from the Plant Network

  19. Next Generation PFD • What’s so great about the new PFD? • Monitors sizes up to 55” for full PFD and Secondary units • iOS and Android apps are in development • It is optimized for database connectivity (ODBC driver configuration examples are provided via our website)

  20. Next Generation PFD • What Operating Systems are supported? • We are releasing PFD 3.0 Runtime (pre-loaded on the controller) on Windows XP • A Windows 7 version of the Controller will be released at a later date. • PFD 3.0 Manager will install and run on Windows 7 (including 64-bit)

  21. Next Generation PFD • Will PFD 3.0 Manager install along side all prior versions of Xpress? • It is recommended that the customer has Xpress version 2.1.7 and higher.

  22. Next Generation PFD • Are there any guidelines for selecting compatible monitors with the PFD Controller? Any recommended cabling? • We do not recommend any particular monitor manufacturer over another. Parker has connected the controller up to different monitors without any failures.

  23. Next Generation PFD • We ultimately recommend using the DVI to HDMI adapter to achieve the best picture quality. We have confirmed that connecting a PFD controller to a monitor via VGA and DVI does work without failure.

  24. PFD Features and Demo • Let’s look at some high-level features of the PFD • Product Demo

  25. The Parker Factory Display • Intelligent Real Time Monitoring and display of critical performance metrics. • Provides immediate local ‘Scoreboard’ display as well as Web publishing of the information for remote viewing and Data Collection / concentration. • Infinitely Scalable solution via local intelligence – Start with a single unit and scale to a world wide interconnected system. • PFD unit can connect directly to virtually any automation controller in use today. (PLC, Motion Controller, PAC, etc.) • Part of the Parker ‘Information Anywhere’ family of products.

  26. The Parker Factory Display • Fully User configurable • Adapts to your standard metrics and calculations rather than the other way around. • Key Metric Calculations calculated on a local level • Allows for variations from facility to facility or Regional differences. • But Template capability allows for Global Standardization if this is required.

  27. Parker Factory Display – Web Publish Data • Web Publishing Capability • Remotely view status from anywhere in the facility / even from across the country.

  28. The Parker Factory Display • High Definition resolutions and Video Support allow for the most intuitive error display information in the Industry. • The faster a problem is identified and displayed – the faster it can be corrected.

  29. PFD Monitor Benefits • Optimized for 24/7 operation • On-screen menu to schedule your monitor power up and power down to aid in reducing energy costs • Monitors can be mounted in an array to create an even larger display • Thermal sensors and fans for temperature regulation of the monitor

  30. Let’s Look at the PFD Demo Application! • A demo application is included with each controller and also available for download
