Course Focus • Study emergence of the state system in the Middle East • Examine the causes and evolution of the Arab-Israeli and Gulf conflicts • Survey “drivers” of international relations of the Middle East • Examine the relationship between domestic politics and international relations of the Middle East • Discuss the “Arab Spring” and its implications
