  1. The Telephone

  2. Telephone History • In 1876 Alexander Graham Bell created the first telephone, and has since changed a lot. The telephone was the first device that enabled people to talk to each other directly.

  3. How the telephone was created • The telephone was created when Alexander Graham Bell was trying to modify the telegraph, which quite similar to the telephone. The telephone was actually created by mistake.

  4. The First Telephone started to develop • The first telephone did not have a bell, so the caller had to hit the phone with a hammer to let the receiver know a call was being sent to them. It was Thomas Watson who invented the bell.

  5. Further development • The pushbutton telephone was invented in 1941.A transmitter was invented by Walter Hauser Britain in 1947 to amplify the sound across the wires. Now calls could be sent longer distances.

  6. Cordless phones • Cordless phones were introduced in 1980.The cordless phone was actually invented in 1965, and has since developed majorly. The first cordless phones were not very good, a cordless phone functioned at a low frequency of 47-49 MHz and worked well only in small areas. Better versions with higher frequencies worked a lot better.

  7. Cordless phones • Cordless phones have since developed today and can work good in even large places. Also the battery in a cordless phone lasts a lot longer then what use to in the earlier times. Also the size of the cordless phones have changed since the early days, they are much smaller now.

  8. Cell phones • The first cell phone was invented in April 1973 by Martin Cooper, it weighed 2.2 pounds. Cell phones are the highest development in the “phone world” so far. They are highly developed compared to the first phone ever invented.

  9. Further development of the Cell phone • When the first cell phone was invented it could only be used to make phone calls. Since then phones have went from being flip screen, to qwerty, to currently touch screen. Phones can now use the internet and now you can do more things beside talk on them.

  10. How the telephone changed the world • With the telephone we are able connect people even when we are at home or even at different places. It has made life so much easier and has really help the world develop to what it has become today. Without the invention of the telephone I don’t think the world wouldn’t be as high developed as it is.
