Each of Willow Tree’s products is based on an original work by Kansas City, MO-based artist Susan Lordi. With each piece, Ms. Lordi starts by creating a “sketch” with clay. Once she has found the right form and gestures for a sculpture, she carves a copy of it by hand. This unique process gives each figurine a personalized feel: People can see that they are the work of an individual, not an assembly line.
