  4. GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION (GRE) The GRE or Graduate Record Exam is required for admission to most U.S., Canadian, and UK graduate schools. Most Students attend graduate business school for pursuing a Master degree. In addition, GRE can also be used for admission to PhD program.

  5. Graduate record examination GRE is a computer based examination and is conducted worldwide by educational testing service (ETS). Graduate record examination GRE is a multiple choice test which tests a student’s verbal, mathematical and writing abilities for applicants to graduate schools.

COURSE CONTENT • The GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills that are not related to any specific field of study. • Analytical Writing - Measures critical thinking and analytical • writing skills, specifically the test taker’s ability to articulate • complex ideas clearly and effectively. • Verbal Reasoning - Measures reading comprehension skills • and verbal and analogical reasoning skills, focusing on the test • taker’s ability to analyze and evaluate written material. • Quantitative Reasoning - Measures problem – solving • ability, focusing on basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, • geometry and data analysis.

  13. INTRODUCTION TO TOEFL What is the TOEFL? The TOEFL is a test designed to assess your level of English. It is taken by students who want to pursue higher education in an English speaking country. Almost every university in the US has a minimum TOEFL score that they require. Prestigious universities will only admit students who have a high TOEFL score. For how long is the TOEFL score valid? Your TOEFL score is valid for a period of two years. If you take your TOEFL test in July, 2011, your score will be in the official TOEFL database until July, 2013. Afterwards, they will delete your score. If you still have a copy of your original TOEFL score report, you should be able to ask universities if they will accept it. But most universities won’t accept a score report from you; they require a score sent directly from ETS, the agency that administers the TOEFL test. What is a good score on the TOEFL? The highest score on the paper based TOEFL test is 677. The highest score on the TOEFL iBT is 300. The score that you need depends upon the universities you want to get into. Prestigious universities require higher TOEFL scores. To find out the exact TOEFL requirements of each university, you will need to contact the university itself.

  31. COMMON ADMISSION TEST • (CAT) • CAT - is all India national level test conducted by IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) as entrance exam for admission to management programmes. Based on CAT percentile score, candidates are called for next stage of selection, rejection process which usually consists of Group Discussion, Essay and Personal Interview (GDPI). CAT is multiple-choice based test with penalties for wrong answers.

  32. CAT is a test with no predefined syllabus, however past trends suggest that CAT tests in general aptitude including Verbal Ability (english), Quant Ability (Mathematics), Logical Resoning (LR) and Data Interpretation (DI) skills.
