Group Outings Bridgetown Barbados Museum; Emancipation Memorial; Independence Arch; George Washington House Educate students on Barbados history that shaped the racial/ethnic makeup and culture of the country. Black Cultural Tour Tour of historic plantation homes In depth cultural/heritage touring and lectures Students will gain knowledge of Black culture and heritage in Barbados and trace the roots of a nation of predominantly Black African heritage. The Plantation Theatre-Bajan Roots & Rhythms –Dinner and show Highlights: Barbadian culture, musical heritage, traditional foods and dances. This show has also been showcased many times on the CNN Travel Guide, BET, BBC and Granada Television in the UK, and thus is connected to our discussion of portrayals of race/culture in media.

    7. PROGRAM EXPENSES Program Cost:$3,525 This does not include IPE Fee ($250), airfare ($1,000), Study Abroad Insurance (about $40/month) and personal spending money.
