  7. Other Types of Electoral Systems • Proportional Representation • Voters vote for a party, both nationally and regionally. Whatever percentage of the overall vote a party receives in the election is the percentage of seats of seats it will be allotted in the government. This system allows different groups to share power. • FPTP – Proportional Representation • Voters cast 2 votes, one for a representative in their riding and one for the party of their choice. • Preferential Ballot • Citizens vote once, listing their top three choices of candidate. The winner by this means receives a majority of the votes.
