COMSIS • Department of Communities Statistical Information System (COMSIS) • On-line database query tool • Provides easy and immediate access to broad range of key demographic, social and economic indicators • Small area data concorded to Communities regions based on common ASGC (2001) • Generated results (tables) can be printed, saved, or imported into other applications

  5. Communities Regional Profiles • Standardised set of statistical reports based on 10 Communities regions • Report structure is defined, but data tables and commentary automatically updated with latest statistics from database • Reports cover 27 selected social and economic indicators over 21 pages • Profiles previously compiled manually by 10 Communities staff over 6 weeks. Now compiled with extended range of indicators in 35 seconds!

  6. Thematic Mapping • Mapping system currently in development • Provide automatic spatial distribution of attributes from selected indicators within COMSIS database • Allows for quick visual identification of data relationships between geographic regions
