  2. A short summary about the European flag by students of primary 4th from FEDAC-Prats (Spain)

  3. The flag was designed by Arsène Heitz and Paul Levy in 1955. • In 1983 the European Parliament adopted the flag. In 1985 ,it was adopted by all EU leaders as the official emblem of the European Union.

  4. In various traditions, twelve is a symbolic number representing perfection. It is also of the 12 months in a year, the number of hours shown on a clock face, ...

  5. The stars symbolize the ideals of unity , solidarity and harmony among of people of Europe. The circle is also a symbol of unity.

  6. There are twenty-seven members in the European Union. • Spain joined on the 1 st January 1986. • Cròacia will join in 2013.
