Intervention Our Objective: to see our young people fulfilling their target grades, to tackle underachievement and develop the whole person • Students are expected to make 2 levels of progress between KS2 and KS3 • Departments will address significant underachievement in their subject areas • Paired Reading with Sixth Formers • Reading for Pleasure – DEAR • Don’t stop reading to and with your children!

Learning Support • In class support • Learning Support withdrawal Literacy and Numeracy • Social Communication & Autism Groups • Homework Club Tuesday & Friday lunchtimes • Craft Club – Monday & Friday Lunchtime • Supervised Lunchtime Activities - Blue Room – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday • Support for students with English as an Additional Language

  4. Pupil Premium • The fund designed to support students eligible for Free School Meals • Fund is to enhance learning • Bespoke planning • Additional learning experiences available i.e. 1:1 tuition • Enrichment activities funded • Academic Materials and Educational Equipment • Please register for FSM if you think you are eligible – this releases the funds from DfE

Year 7 Academic Year 2013 - 2014 • Year 7 Retreats – Parish Centre Monday, 23rd and Tuesday, 24th September 2013 • Parent/Tutor Evening – Library 4.15pm Wednesday, 17th October 2013 • Advent Service Tuesday, 10th December and Wednesday, 11th December 2013 • Autumn Interim Report and Progress Grade w/c 6th December 2013 • Y7 Student Progress Day Monday, 20th January 2014 • Written Report issued w/c 17th March 2014 • Parents’ Evening – 4.15pm Thursday, 22nd May 2014 • Summer Interim Report and Progress Grade w/c 22nd July 2013

  6. Parental Support • Provide a quiet place to study • Establish ground rules/ routine with homework • Where possible, do homework the night it is set • Pack school bag the night before • Minimise interruptions: Ipods, mobiles, television, internet and other distractions • Organise a place for schools books and equipment: on a shelf, in a box or a drawer • Notice board with timetable and reminders – lists for each day of the week

  7. Parental Support • Use our new planner for information and check regularly • Aspire Challenge Award • Keep us informed
