  3. Safe at Home Topics • SAH overview • eHEAT changes for SAH households • SP EAP staff must view SAH training video • SAH resources for SP staff & SAH HHs

  4. Safe at Home SAH overview • What is SAH? • Program allows those with extreme safety concerns to keep their address secret so persons they’re afraid of can’t find them • Serves 3,000 people in 1,100 HHs throughout MN • Survivors of domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault • SAH HH is assigned an ‘alternative address’ that all private & public entities must accept as their true address: • LOT ####, PO BOX 17370, SAINT PAUL MN 55117 • SAH PO Box is the same for every participant • The lot # is different for each HH and/or adult

  5. Safe at Home eHEAT changes for SAH applications • Last year EAP added a ‘Safe at Home’ checkbox in eHEAT • Change in the Safe at Home (SAH) Participant SSNsection (of Ch. 13, pg. 3) • When SP checks the SAH checkbox on the ‘Primary Applicant’ screen, eHEAT automatically assigns the HH a bogus SSN of SAH-XX-XXXX

  6. Safe at Home and EAP Reminder • ‘Safe at Home’ checkbox added to Personal Info screen • SSN field auto-fills with SAH-XX-XXXX • Mailing Address fields auto-fill with SAH address: “PO Box 17370, Saint Paul, MN 55117-0370” • The House Number field auto-fills with the words “LOT #” • SP must add the SAH HH’s unique LOT #, e.g. LOT #1234 1234

  7. Safe at Home SAH training video • All SP EAP staff must watch SAH training video • At start-up training and as part of new staff on-boarding • Found on the EAP training video webpage: https://sites.google.com/site/minnesotaeaptraining/home/ffy19-state-training-videos • It’s the 10th video, titled “Safe At Home / SAH and EAP”

  8. Safe at Home SAH resources SAH Fact Sheet • On EAP Toolkit http://mn.gov/commerce-stat/pdfs/sah-fact-sheet.pdf • How staff safely interact with SAH HHs and process their app • Can post Fact Sheet at staff workstation

  9. Safe at Home SAH resources Safe at Home Participant Instruction (Appendix 4A) • On EAP Toolkit: http://mn.gov/commerce-stat/pdfs/instruct-sah-completing-eap-app.pdf
