(Types of bone & Function) • Long bones: มีความยาวมากกว่าความกว้าง ได้แก่ กระดูกแขน - ขา (arms & legs) • Short bones :มีความยาวและความกว้างพอๆกัน ได้แก่ กระดูกข้อมือ (wrists or carpal bone) กระดูกข้อเท้า (ankles or tarsal bone) • Flat bone:รูปร่างแบน เนื้อกระดูกแน่น(compact bone) แผ่นกระดูกบาง โค้ง - ซี่โครง(ribs) -สะบัก(scapula) -กะโหลกศีรษะ(skull ) -กระดูกหน้าอก(sternum) • Irregular bone:รูปร่างแปลก -กระดูกสันหลัง(vertebrae) -กระดูกสะโพก(hipbones) -กระดูกขากรรไกร (maxillary bone)

49. การเคลื่อนไหวของกระดูกข้อต่อการเคลื่อนไหวของกระดูกข้อต่อ 1.ข้อต่อเคลื่อนไหวไม่ได้เลย เป็นข้อต่อที่มีเยื่อมายึดเกาะ ระหว่างกระดูก และ เคลื่อนไหวไม่ได้ เช่น รอยต่อกระดูกกะโหลกศีรษะ 2. ข้อต่อเคลื่อนไหวได้บ้างเล็กน้อย เป็นข้อต่อที่เคลื่อนไหวได้บ้างแต่ไม่มากนัก เช่น ข้อต่อที่กระดูกสันหลัง

50. 3. ข้อต่อที่เคลื่อนไหวได้มาก เป็นข้อต่อที่มีช่องว่างหรือมีโพรง (Aticular Cavity)ระหว่าง กระดูกที่มาต่อกัน มีถุงหุ้มปลายแคปซูล (Capsule)ล้อมรอบด้วยผนังที่เรียกว่าเยื่อบุข้อต่อ(Synovial Membrane)ซึ่งจะผลิตน้ำหล่อลื่นหรือน้ำมันไขข้อ (Synovial Fluid)
