English 10 - 12/10/12 • Respond to the poetry video. • The old farmer tried fish farming once, but had to give it up when his combine kept getting stuck in the lake. • Autology – the scientific study of oneself. Goals –Recite your first poem for the class. Learn how to evaluate a poetry recitation. Homework – Start preparing your second poem; don’t forget to get it approved by me.

  2. English 10 - 12/11/12 • Respond to the poetry video. • Why did the atoms cross the road? • Ululate – to howl or hoot. Goals –Recite your first poem for class or read your second poem for a classmate. Evaluate recitations. Homework – Write your second poem from memory on your daily work paper. Recite it before going to bed.

Goals –Recite your second poems with partners. Evaluate a poetry recitations. Focus on how it sounds and how it feels. Get 2nd poems approved. Homework – Write your second poem from memory on your daily work paper. Recite it before going to bed.

Evaluate a poetry recitations. Check for accuracy and tone. Homework –Write your second poem from memory on your daily work paper. Recite it before going to bed. Quiz #15 tomorrow.

English 10 - 12/14/12 • Five minutes to prepare for vocabulary quiz #15. • What did the hotdog say when he crossed the finish line? • Stomatolalia – speech produced when one’s nostrils are clogged. Goals –Complete #15. Recite 2nd poem for evaluation Homework – Do whatever it takes to be able to recite one poem in class on Monday. If you have already done it have a great weekend!

  6. English 10 - 12/17/12 • Respond to The Darkling Thrush” video. • What did the rug say to the floor? • Bicipital – having two heads. Goals – Continue POL classroom competition. Homework – The contest continues!

  7. English 10 - 12/18/12 • Respond to “If” video. • Who are the most truthful men in Spain? • Chaetophorous – bristle bearing; in need of a shave. Goals – Complete POL classroom competition. Homework – Have a great break!
