(1)过去分词作表语 • He was sunk in thought. The electric wire is broken. I’am convinced of his honesty. • We were surprised at her unique dress. • The whole world was shocked at the news of the Nov.11th accident in 2001 . • I’m embarrassed to say that this roast chicken was uneatable.
(2)过去分词作宾语补足语 • She felt a great load taken off her mind. He heard his name called. She still could not make herself understood in English. He managed to get it done on time. The writer made himself known by the novel． • The fire was reported controlled。（主补） She was seen angered at the work. 注意:使役\致使动词+宾语 +过去分词宾补 意义被动,已经完成; 过去分词也可以做主语补足语 .
(3)过去分词发作定语 • Half of the guests invited to the reception were foreign ambassadors. These trucks carry goods exported to foreign countries? He was a teacher respected by all his students. • The matter being discussed is of vital importance. The man being questioned was a spy. He was invited to a meeting to be held the next day. These are the machine tools to be imported from France.
注意: 过去分词表示一个正在进行的动作,用being + 过去分词结构; 过去分词表示一个将来发生的动作,用 to be + 过去分词结构.
(4)过去分词 作状语,表示时间、方式、伴随、条件等 • Seen from the pagoda, the south foot of the Purple Mountain is a sea of trees.． Overcome with surprise, she was unable to utter a word. He hurried to the hall, followed by two guards． He turned away disappointed. Given another chance, I’ll do it better.
