  3. Ancient Greece theatre • Ancient theatre had no special effect • Had no comfortable seats, instead sat on rocks. • Played in one place next to the Athena Temple. • No seating arrangements. • No fee to enter. • No layouts.

  4. Plays in Theatres • There are two types of Greek plays that were preformed in theatres. The first type of Greek play is tragedy, Greek tragedy is a form of art based on “humansuffering”. The origin of Greek is obscure, but it came from religious festivals of ancient Greece. Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus are some examples of people who created theatre and tragic plays. Festivals of Greek tragedies happen too. The largest festival for Greek tragedy was the Dionysian held for five days in march. Greek tragedies were preformed in early april. Greek tragedies were made in honor of the god Dionysus.

  8. Play #2 • Now its time for some comedy. • Another type of Greek play is comedy. It was created by a play writer named Aristotle. Comedy Greek plays was divided into three parts, old comedy, middle comedy, and new comedy. Old comedy is completely lost, but it was considered a sport of literature. Middle comedy was different in 3 ways: 1st it had no chorus. 2nd public characters were not impersonated. 3rd it was literary rather than political. New comedy relied on real characters, it influenced Shakespeare and had a good mode.

  10. Modern Theatre • Today we have special effects. • We have comfortable seats. • Women can act, and actually attend a play. • We have more than one theatre. • You have to pay to enter a play. • You can enter food and drinks to enjoy.

  11. Conclusion • I don’t think anyone could live a life without education and entertainment, that means you could not live without theatres and plays. They are really funny, some are scary but at the end there is a point of education, which is a good way for kids to learn and even adults.
