  3. Competition • Nintendo (Wii), and Microsoft(Xbox 360) • Xbox 360’s early release caused Sony to release its console before its intended release time. • Xbox 360 ischanged the economics of game consoles.

  4. CompetitionFuture Sony PS3 is just over50% of the installed base of next generation consoles, while the Microsoft Xbox 360 will have 28.6%, and the Nintendo will have 21.2%.

Relating • Subscribers aregreeted withtheir name upabove. • There are not muchevidentproof of relatingexpect for the minute changesthey may make tothe website due toe-mails, forums, or other means of relayingqueries, complaints and othersuch things fromcustomers. • Sony will be unable to get the information, andfeedback that it highly importantin order to be an even more successful company without thepresence of moreresources that allow detailed, customer feedback..

What doyouthink? • Should a longrunning successful company such as Sony continue tolearning moreabout itscustomer base? • Is such intensecompetitionamong Sony,Nintendo, andMicrosoft valuable inproduct production? • With competitionas it is today, will therebe one dominant/sole console producer? • Do long running companies such as Sony still need to put much emphasis in preparing a value bubble or is it irrelevant?
