  3. “Groupon’s Controversial TV Commercials” • Groupon was making light of the plight of the people of Tibet to plug their services. • Many viewers began tweeting immediately about their distaste of the ad • Groupon claims their ads were intended to spoof celebrity endorsed public service announcements • Groupon’s website promotes users to donate to the 3 causes its ads supposedly lampooned

Groupon and Class • Attitude: a lasting, general evaluation of people, objects, advertisements, or issues • Groupon’s ads features things that consumers might have an emotional tie to, such as, Tibet, Brazil’s Rainforest, and the whales • Controversial commercials could persuade users away from the non controversial product
