  2. Fact 1  What Is Frost? * Frost which usually appears on plants or grass are small ice crystals on exposed objects.

  3. Fact 2  Dangers * Unseasonable killing frost is a serious hazard to farmers and fruit growers.

  4. Fact 3  When does Frost occur? * Frost Occurs on clear, windless nights when the layer of air next to the ground contains moisture.

  5. Fact 4  How does it effect plants? * Frost kills plants by freezing their fluids. 

  6. Fact 5  Black Frost? *Black Frost is another term for intense cold that blackens and kills vegetation—no actual frost is involved.

  7. Fact 6  Protection of plants? *Fruit growers protect their orchards by burning fires, or by placing heaters at intervals to raise the air’s heat.

  8. Fact 7  Resistance *The more moist your plants are the more frost resistant they are.

  9. Fact 8  Hoar Frost’s formation *Hoar frost might form as liquid dew that has subsequently frozen with a drop in temperature which is known as silver frost or white frost. This kind of frost is dangerous for many plants.

  10. Fact 9  What kind of plants suffer the most? * Plants that usually suffer the most are the species that have originated from Asian cultures such as bamboo.

  11. Fact 10  When should farmers start to protect their plants? • Frost usually occurs during the transition of Winter and Spring so that would be the best time for farmers to protect their plants from frost.
