  3. Staff Sergeant Ryan Maseth Electrocution Incident  This is a story about an electrocution incident that claimed the life of a highly decorated Green Beret from Pittsburg named SSG Ryan Maseth. It happened in the barracks in Iraq. SSG Maseth was housed in a vacated building which was converted into living quarters deemed safe for occupancy by military personnel. However, on January 2, 2008, SSG Maseth turned on the water to take a shower and was instantly electrocuted and subsequently died. An investigation, found that the contractor who prepared the building for U.S. Soldiers, Kellogg, Brown, and Root (a.k.a. KBR), had not properly grounded the water pump. The Army concluded the death of SSG Ryan Maseth was negligent homicide. U.S. Senator Bob Casey from Pennsylvania, who took part in hearings about the case, said the homicide determination “…is a significant development and it means we've got to keep pushing the Army and the Pentagon to get this right and to have a final accounting of what happened." What does this have to do with operational contract support?
