  1. Leonardo EURACT course in Serbia Snežana Janković 19.-23. September, Bled

  2. EURACT and the Leonardo da Vinci project “Towards development of the European Network of Postgraduate and Continuing Education for Family Physicians” was designed and developed “The Leonardo EURACT course for trainers in Family Medicine”.

  4. General aim: To improve quality of General Practice/Family Medicine teaching in European Countries

  5. Specific objectives: • To improve the level of one-to-one teaching in European countries; • To run a series of courses for GP trainers; • To ensure dissemination of knowledge and skills by course participants in their own countries; • To prepare teaching materials for GP trainers; • To develop a network of GP teaching organizations involved in one-to-one training; • To stimulate development of FM teaching in participating countries; • To develop core groups of teachers in European Countries • To encourage the dissemination of the teaching experience in European Countries

  6. Four representatives from former Serbia and Montenegro completed the „Leonardo Course“ in Kushadasi in Turkey in May 2005. Upon their return preparations were made for carriing out: “Leonardo Course“ in Serbia. The School of Medicine in Belgrade gave its support. The course manager was appointed and tasks were dispursed. All four of us prepared presentations, texts for printed material, using the Kushadasi materials.

  7. Two courses were carried out upto now. First was in Belgrade from 23. to 24. February 2006. Second course was in Novi Sad from 08. to 09. June 2006.

  8. In Belgrade were 46 coursists, specilist in General Practise/ tainers from all around Serbia. The course was succesfully completed by two physicians from Kosovo as well as two from Montenegro.

  9. Second course in Novi Sad was been at Medicine Faculty, with 19 GP’s from Vojvodina. All “The Leonardo EURACT course” principles were respected.

  10. Courses were carried out in: • 11 sessions, • 32 modules • in 11h 40’ • were participants took active roll during the lectures, discussions and evaluation lists were filled in after every course.

  11. Total average mark for the course: • in Belgrade was 4,87 • in Novi Sad Novi Sad 4,92.

  12. We can say that we have expected outputs: • a continuing series of courses; • teaching materials for teacher training; • teaching modules, adapted to individual states; • a network of teachers and tutors; • publications in journals.

  13. Next course in Belgrade is scheduled for October 2006. at The Medicine Faculty
