  1. Transportation By: Madison Dominguez, Julianna Tirelli, Christina Ippolito, Tahnyshia Swain

  2. Famous People • John McAdamwas a Scottish engineer. He created a new way of roads to be more safe and easier to travel on. • George Stephenson was an English engineer. He perfected a steam-propelled engine, that was made to ran on rails. • The first American to have a steamboat service was Robert Fulton.

  3. Inventions that are still used • We still use roads with stones and not just dirt roads. This is the same because we still use small stones in our roads. But it’s different because they are cemented together rather than loose pebbles. • George Stephenson perfected a steam propelled engine for trains. This is similar to today because we still use trains with engines to commute to work. But it is different because trains today are run on gas and not coal so there are many improvements since the industrial revolution. • We still use boats today: • They both have the same purpose as they did back then to transfer people from one place to another. Boats are not as common as back then to travel in and it not a steam boat it’s a regular boat which runs on gas not steam.

  4. Why it’s Important • Couldn’t transfer ideas • Not being able to trade with others • Economy would fail > poor country • Low food supply > sources • Death increases

  5. New Methods/ improved methods • New Methods/ improved methods roads- layers of carefully selected small stones topped a roadbed of large stones. • Watts steam engine. • Locomotive- George Stephen perfected the steam. • Propelled-moving engine.
