  5. Activating Reminders… • You MUST perform steps in the exact order • You MUST log out and back in when instructed • You MUST select a patient to see the reminder icon active

  6. Step 1: Install 2 Reminder from Reminder Exchange Install at least the following 2 reminders from Reminders Exchange • Immunization forecaster • Weight or Height

  7. Step 2: Set first 3 parameters 1. Reminder GUI Resolution Active Activated GUI reminder 2. EHR Cover Sheet Reminder List Set the initial EHR side display for the purposes of activating the system. You will override this in a later step but this step MUST be done 3. Allow EHR Configuration in GUI Sets permission for CAC to configure the EHR display through a GUI menu

  11. Step 3: Configure GUI display LOG OUT THEN LOG BACK IN • Select patient Your clock should spin then show up without the X!!!

  12. Step 3: Configure GUI display • Go to the GUI • Click on the reminder icon • Click on the Action Menu • Choose the last item- Edit Cover Sheet Reminder List

  13. Top section shows how the reminders are set up Middle section allows the CAC to assign reminders by the different groups Left lower area is the list of available reminders Right lower area is the assignment for the chosen level Step 3: Configure GUI display

  14. Click on SYSTEM, highlight any reminders on the lower RIGHT window and use the lower arrow to move the items back to the LEFT. Click APPLY Step 3: Configure GUI display

  15. Once you have moved all reminders over to the left, begin to move the NEW reminders back over to the RIGHT. The first reminder you need to move over is IHS-IMMUNIZATION FORECAST, change the sequence number to 1 Click APPLY Step 3: Configure GUI display

  16. Now click on User or User Class and begin to move over reminders you want to test. This way, reminders will be ON but only those you want to initial test the reminders will see any reminders except the Immunization Forecaster. Click APPLY Click OK Step 3: Configure GUI display

Step 4: Set New Reminder Parameter LOG OUT OF EHR AND LOG INTO RPMS Set the New Reminder Parameter BEH → REM→ PAR → NEW – New Reminder Parameters Use New Reminder Parameters may be set for the following: 1 User USR [choose from NEW PERSON] 2 Service SRV [choose from SERVICE/SECTION] 3 Division DIV [DEMO HOSPITAL] 4 System SYS [DEMO.MEDSPHERE.COM] 5 Package PKG [ORDER ENTRY/RESULTS REPORTING] Enter selection: 4 System DEMO.MEDSPHERE.COM ---- Setting Use New Reminder Parameters for System: DEMO.MEDSPHERE.COM ---- USE NEW REMINDER PARAMS: YES//

Step 5: Verify parameters set LOG INTO EHR as yourself Select patient The EHR “sees” and “displays” the GUI configured list of reminders you set for yourself/CAC Ask another user to LOG INTO EHR Select patient The EHR should “sees” and “displays” the GUI configured list of reminders you set for System level (Imm Forecaster)

  19. Beyond the initial set up…

  20. The new one is put in at a higher sequence Can be changed If no longer used, remove button puts a – before the reminder but doesn’t “remove” it. Hit apply GUI - inactivate

  21. To reactivate a reminder Highlight the item with the – sign Click Add and it becomes active If its LOCKED, only the person placing the lock can remove it GUI - Reactivate

  24. Can setup your own groups of reminders Click on the Reminder Icon They show up in the OTHER folder Helps delegate work Create Categories (folder)

  31. Person Class • Reminders uses the Person Class field in the New Person file to determine who can resolve reminders. • This is part of the edit a user. There are hundreds of person classes. • Every user just needs to have one
