  13. Hey Psi Chi Members! We just had a social on Sunday that turned out quite a few people. We wanted to say thank you to everyone who had a chance to join us at English Springs Park for BBQ, games, and pictures. It was fun and we hope that you had the chance to get to know your fellow members, especially if you were new to Psi Chi. For those of you who attended, you will receive 3 points toward your International Membership (point system to be discussed at first meeting).Tomorrow during U-Hour in Building 5-105 is our first meeting of Fall quarter. Please join everybody for some pizza, introductions of the new E-Board, and plans for Psi Chi in the upcoming year with the Fall calendar that we will provide. In addition, if you get a chance, check out our beautiful new Psi Chi website at http://www.csupomona.edu/~psichi/ created by our Public Relations Officer, Welly Rosaline. The website will constantly be updated so check it out for the latest news on WPA and Psi Chi's agenda. We also have a board outside of room 105 that displays pictures and announcements that you can check as you walk through the halls of Building 5 toward your classes. For the week of October 4th, the latest news on research is that the McNair program is accepting applications until October 22nd. It is a great program offered to students interested in graduate work who have a chance to work on their own research. You can find out more information, why doing research is beneficial at an undergraduate level (also to be discussed at the Psi Chi Meetings) and download the eligibility form at http://www.csupomona.edu/~mcnair/ . You can pick up the application in Building 8, Room 306. In fact, our own president, Chris Rios, was a part of the program last year, so you should ask him if you have any questions about the benefits or what the program entails! If you are interested, please gather the information immediately as the deadline is quickly approaching. That is all for this week. See everyone Tuesday!
