  2. Discipline Discipline is defined as “… a force that prompts individuals or groups to observe the rules, regulations and procedures which are deemed to be necessary for the effective functioning of an organisation.

  3. Causes of Indiscipline • Ineffective leadership • Low wages and poor working conditions • Lack of promotional opportunities • Lack of timely redressal of workers’ grievances • Unfair management practices • Defective communication system

  4. Lack of workers’ education • Uninteresting work • Drunkenness and family problems • Outside political influences • Excessive work pressure. • Absence of any code of conduct to regulate behaviour on both sides.
